80+years of waiting in Nordic, and the Americans break through first with Spillane in individs with a silver, and now the team nabs a silver too. Very proud moment for the USA.

It's still too close for my likings right now, 26-23, with Germany getting closer.

    7-7 in Gold still.
We tied it with those two and it's 9-9 in Silver now.
And they picked up a couple Bronze, 10-7, that lead is shrinking.

Norway isn't all that far behind either, though Germany is who we have to worry about Norway is right in there with 17 ....6 GOLD, 5 Silver and 6 Bronze.

To win all 3 medal counts is a near impossible feat, but we are holding our own. We have a surprise squad in 2nd in bobsled right now,as some qualifiers in the Alpine finals. We are nabbing at least another gold or silver Thursday as well in women's hockey. I think we'kll be ok. The events that the Germans have been killing folks on (like bobsled) are concluding as well.

I know it'd be hard, but have had a lead for most of the time. I'd be happy with Gold and overall, but I'm aiming high with it all.

I'm not too arrogant to not admit that Joannie Rochette just brought me to tears with her skate after losing her mom to a massive heart attack just days ago. The courage-man oh man.

    Re: Medal count...

Latvia who is winless shows us why with this putrid offense. Still in spite of this, they are tied with the Czechs 2-2 with mere minutes left. So much for the predicted slaughter. Provided the US beats the Swiss in the quarters tomorrow,we'll draw the Finland-Czech winner. Now I have an even better feeling about making the podium. The Finns are old and slow, and the Czechs look shaken (may just be level of competition). I feel like we can beat either squad. With Canada-Russia tomorrow, another big boy will be out. Good news for us and Sweden.

    Re: Medal count...

The Czechs dodge a huge bullet and win in OT 3-2. Now Norway-Slovakia. Here's hoping the Slovaks embarrass this classless bunch of thugs from Norway (already had a player ejected for this game just a few minutes in after a dirty hit as the Slovaks lead 2-0). Finishing 0-4 (again) would be what Norway deserves. I guess after being 0-14 or so the last few Olympics you figure since you suck at hockey, you might as well try cheapshotting and thugging.
